Ratification of Application to Federal Aviation Administration for Grant Through Airport Improvement Program for Airport Layout Plan and Property Inventory Map at Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Brooksville -Tampa Bay Regional Airport (BKV) is requesting funding from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the amount of $362,915.00 for the 2025 Airport Improvement Program (AIP) Grant to update the Airport Layout Plan (ALP) and create Exhibit "A" Airport Property Inventory Map.
The current ALP Set was last updated in 2016 as part of previous Master Plan Update for BKV. Since that time, the airport has gone through several changes which include recent airfield development, role classification as a National Airport and a series of property acquisitions and releases. As a result, the ALP Update and Exhibit A, Airport Property Inventory Map (which will be developed as part of this grant), is intended to incorporate these changes with a primary focus on development actions needed to improve and maintain airport facilities, air safety, and maximize development and economic impact to generate resources to support the airport.
The deadline for the application submittal was April 28, 2025. The Airport was unable to present the grant application to the BOCC prior to that date and requested the County Administrator's signature on the application to meet the deadline.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
When the grant is received, local match funding in the amount of $3,820 will come from Fund: 4311 - Airport / Industrial Park, Department: 07411 - Airport Operations, Account: 5909917 - Budget Res-Capital Projects.
State funding in the amount of $15,281 is expected in August 2025. The percentage share of funding is FAA: 95%, FDOT 4%, Local 1%.
