Discussion Regarding Roadway Access for Emergency Vehicles in Royal Highlands Area

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

Commissioner John Allocco has requested that the Board have discussion regarding roads in the Royal Highland area and the time in which it takes emergency vehicles to respond to an emergency situation.

Currently Dusky Warbler Road is a paved road that was never completed to connect with Centralia Road.  As a result, emergency vehicles must travel west on Centralia Road, passing Dusky Warbler Road to turn north on Lelani Drive, then east unto Ruffed Grouse Road and then finally back to Dusky Warbler Road to access the surrounding neighborhood.  This detour adds approximately seven minutes to the emergency response time, which can be critical in life-threatening situations.
