Modification to State Department of Commerce Federally-Funded Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Subgrant Agreement for FY 2021-2022

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

A request for a 12-month extension is being made to the work plans and agreement of the FY 2021-2022 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) between Hernando County and the Florida Department of Commerce.

The request for extension is needed because the present agreement expired July 31, 2025.  Our efforts and progress were significantly hampered due to storm-related delays from Hurricanes Idalia, Debby, Helene and Milton.  The County received the award letter dated February 10, 2023, but the Subgrant Agreement was not fully executed by the State until January 12, 2024, and the authority to use grant funds was not provided from the State until February 25, 2025.  Modification 1 moves the termination date to July 31, 2026.

The attached work plans were revised to reflect adjustments needed to make the work plans current.  There will be no changes to beneficiaries or accomplishments in the proposed amendment.
