body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

Hernando, Citrus, Lake, Marion and Sumter are the member counties of the Florida Medical Examiner District 5. Seminole County is the sole member of the Florida Medical Examiner District 24. In accordance with section 163.01, Fla. Stat., District 5 and District 24 entered into an Interlocal Agreement Between Citrus County, Hernando County, Lake County, Marion County, Seminole County and Sumter County for Cost Share of Medical Examiner Services and Related Matters (“ILA”) for the joint operation of the Districts 5 and 24 Medical Examiner’s Office and joint engagement of Medicus Forensics, P.A.  This ILA took effect on October 1, 2024, and expires five years therefrom.

The districts now desire to amend section 6 of the ILA, to remove subsections (a), (b) and (c), and keep subsection (d) which would be renumbered to subsection (a). All other terms and conditions of the ILA will remain in full force and effect. The amendment will take effect upon execution by the last party.
