Submittal of FY 2025-26 State Division of Emergency Management Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program Grant Application for Fire Station No. 4 Hurricane Protection

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Florida Division of Emergency Management is soliciting applications for the FY 2025-26 Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program (HLMP). Grant funds are 100% reimbursable and can be used to improve structural integrity to protect against the impacts of tropical cyclones. Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services seeks these funds to benefit Station 4 with wind retrofit of the station’s roof, garage bay doors, windows, and exterior doors.

The application is still being written as the agenda item was submitted and a blank copy is therefore attached. The submittal deadline is April 14, 2025.  Should the County be awarded the grant, a budget resolution and acceptance agreement will be brought before the Board at that time.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

HLMP is 100% reimbursable up to $250,000.00. If awarded, a budget resolution will be submitted.

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.
