BRIEF OVERVIEW

Request:

Rezoning from AG (Agricultural) to C-2 (Highway Commercial)

 

General Location:

South side of Old Ayers Road, approximately 950ˈ east of Broad Street

 

P&Z Action:

On June 13, 2022, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5-0 to postpone the petitioner’s request to the August 8, 2022, hearing date with the applicant incurring all readvertising costs.

 

Hearing Detail:

The following members were present at the June 13, 2022, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting: Chairman Mike Fulford; Vice Chairman Jerry Campbell; W. Steve Hickey; Mike Kierzynski; Jonathan McDonald, Mark Johnson (an alternate member present in a non-voting capacity) and John T. Carroll (an alternate member present in a non-voting capacity).

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to make the requested rezoning decision pursuant to Chapters 125 and 163 Florida Statutes.  The Applicable Criteria for a Zoning District Amendment are contained in Appendix A (Zoning Code), Article VI.  The Zoning District Amendment must be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board postpone the petitioner’s request for a Rezoning from AG (Agricultural) to C-2 (Highway Commercial) to a date and time certain of the September 13, 2022, Board of County Commissioners meeting at 9:00 AM. While this is a postponement to a date and time certain, the applicant will incur all re-advertising costs due to the petitioner revising the request.
