Commendation Recognizing Efforts of Hernando County Animal Services Staff Member, Thomas Armstrong, for Building Relationships With Animal Rescue Partners
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
During the end of February and the beginning of March 2024, Hernando County Animal Services received word that approximately 100 cats would be seized from a single residence. The case (202400100005) was a hoarding situation where the caregiver became ill. A 100-cat intake far exceeds our facility’s ability for proper housing and care. Thomas (TJ) Armstrong was tasked with making arrangements with partnering rescues to ease the burden on the shelter. TJ was able to locate placement for the vast majority of cats directly into rescue care which alleviated the burden on Animal Services.
James Terry, Hernando County Animal Services’ Manager, is issuing a commendation to recognize Thomas (TJ) Armstrong for a job well done on this case as well as many others. TJ has shown a great ability to build relationships with rescue partners. TJ is a professional who cares about our animals and always tries to provide the best outcome for them.
