Utilization of Florida Sheriffs Association Cooperative Purchasing Program Contracts and Agreements With Mid Florida Diesel, Inc., for Purchase of Diesel Generator at Northwest Solid Waste Facility (Amount: $68,659.00)

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Florida Sheriff’s Association has a current contract (FSA20-EQU18.0) with Mid Florida Diesel, Inc., for generators.  The Florida Sheriff’s Association allows Florida counties to utilize their contract.  The Solid Waste Department obtained a quote from Mid Florida Diesel, Inc., utilizing the pricing of FSA Contract No. FSA20-EQU18.0.  The total cost of the generator is $68,659.00.  Requisition No. 230347 has been entered for this purchase.

This is a replacement generator for one at the landfill that was purchased in the early 1990’s.  The unit is undersized for the current load requirements and has become exceedingly expensive to continue to operate.  Replacement parts are hard to find in this current market.  The generator is critical, as it operates the scale house when the power is out.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding in the amount of $68,659.00 is available in Account No. 07691-5626401.

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to take the recommended action pursuant to Part II, Chapter 2, Article V of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances.
