Approval of Alternate Members from the City of Brooksville to the Hernando-Citrus MPO Board and the Sun Coast Transportation Planning Alliance (SCTPA)

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Pursuant to the attached notification from the City of Brooksville, on August 18, 2025, the City Council approved all Council members as liaisons to the Suncoast Transportation Planning Alliance (SCTPA) and the balance of the Council to serve as alternate members to the Hernando-Citrus MPO Board.
Currently, Council Members Betty Erhard and Louis Hallal serve as approved alternate members to the MPO Board. By action of the City Council, Council Members J.W. McKethan and Vice Mayor Thomas Bronson have been approved to serve as additional alternate members to the MPO Board should Mayor Tanner be unable to attend a meeting.
Furthermore, all five City Council members, i.e., Mayor Christa Tanner, Vice Mayor Thomas Bronson, Betty Erhard, Louis Hallal, and J.W. McKethan have been appointed as alternate members to the SCTPA. Alternate members would then be able to attend and vote at an SCTPA meeting should the MPO Board's designated liaison and designated alternate be unable to attend the meeting.
Pursuant to the MPO Board's by-laws, the MPO Board shall acknowledge the appointment of each member and alternate member by motion and approval.

Pursuant to Chapter 339.175, F.S., the Hernando-Citrus MPO Board has the authority to take the recommended action.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Hernando-Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Board acknowledge and approve the additional appointments of City Council Members Thomas Bronson, Vice Mayor, and J.W. McKethan as representatives of the City of Brooksville to serve as alternate members on the MPO Board.
