BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Procurement Department issued Bid No. 22-TF0089/DK for Fuel - Unleaded and Diesel for supply and delivery of 87 Octane Unleaded Gasoline and Diesel Fuel to Hernando County Central Fueling locations and Hernando County Sheriff's Office.
Hernando County is a recipient of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding and State of Florida Funding, and clauses were included in the solicitation. Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's) were solicited from the State of Florida DBE Directory to comply with Federal and State regulations.
Hernando County Procurement Department placed the legal advertisement and the ITB on the County's electronic website on August 3, 2022. The bid was sent to one hundred seventy-seven (177) matching vendors from the website. The Hernando County Procurement Department directly solicited twelve (12) DBE vendors and nine (9) local vendors. The bid document was downloaded by ten (10) vendors and four (4) bids were received.
The bids were evaluated on the basis of price, conformance with specifications, and the bidder's ability to perform the contract in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications required. The bid responses were reviewed and evaluated by County department staff and found to be responsive and responsible. The Department review and Award Recommendation indicates that bid pricing is fair and reasonable.
The Fleet Central Fuel Department estimated annual budget for bulk unleaded and diesel fuel is $2,000,000.00 per budget year, with actual usage undetermined. Hernando County Solid Waste and Recycling estimated annual budget is $600,000.00, with actual usage undetermined.
