BRIEF OVERVIEW
As previously directed by the Board, the attached letter was submitted to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) requesting that a representative attend an upcoming Board meeting to provide a presentation regarding gopher tortoise conservation, regulations, and permitting requirements.
Gopher tortoise-related issues continue to be a topic of public interest and concern within our community. The Board believes it is important for both Commissioners and the public to receive clear, accurate, and consistent information directly from the agency responsible for the oversight and management of this protected species.
