BRIEF OVERVIEW
Pursuant to Section 447.605, Florida Statutes, the Board of County Commissioners of Hernando County, Florida, will hold a “closed session” to discuss Hernando County’s collective bargaining with the Hernando County Teamsters Local Union No. 79, as to negotiations and strategy on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 8:15 a.m., or as soon thereafter at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 North Main Street, Second Floor Conference Room 261, Brooksville, Florida. The attending parties shall be all members of the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners: John Allocco, Elizabeth Narverud, Steve Champion, Jerry Campbell, and Brian Hawkins; County Administrator Jeff Rogers; Interim Deputy County Administrator Scott Herring; Human Resources Employment Coordinator Kristine Dale; Director of Office of Management and Budget Toni Brady; and County Attorney Jon Jouben, along with Outside Counsel Sacha Dyson, who may attend telephonically. The meeting is closed to the public and no minutes or recordings will be made. Any work product created during the meeting shall remain confidential and exempt from public Records.

LEGAL NOTE
The Board is authorized to hold a closed session relative to collective bargaining pursuant to Section 447.605, Florida Statutes. The meeting is exempt from the provisions of Section 286.011, Florida Statues, and any and all work product in preparation of or during negotiations is confidential and exempt from Section 119.07(1), Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
At the request of the County Administrator, a closed session shall be held between the Board of County Commissioners, the County Attorney and/or outside counsel engaged specifically for collective bargaining; and the County Administrator or his representative, to discuss the legislative body’s negotiations objectives.
