Resolution Abandoning Sunrise Development of Regional Impact and Its Associated Development Order

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Sunrise Development of Regional Impact (DRI) was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on September 12, 2007, and the associated Development Order (DO) was recorded in OR Book 2491, Pages 1770 through 1820.

The DRI Statute (Section 380.06, Florida Statutes) has been amended to allow for abandonment and to remove the DRI requirements. The owners/developers of the property in the Sunrise DRI have initiated the process to abandon the Sunrise DRI, and the associated DO, as authorized by Section 380.06(11), Florida Statutes.  In addition, the owners/developers have applied for a Development Agreement and updated Master Plan (separate action items) to replace the DRI.

In conjunction with the abandonment, the Board must adopt a resolution and find that all impacts of the Sunrise DRI, after abandonment, will be addressed through the Hernando County Comprehensive Plan, the associated Zoning and Master Plan, the Hernando County Land Development Regulations, and the associated Development Agreement.
