BRIEF OVERVIEW
On June 24, 2025, the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved Resolution No. 2025-106 supporting Hernando County Utilities Department's (HCUD) application to the Withlacoochee Regional Water Supply Authority (WRWSA) Local Government Water Supply and Conservation Funding Assistance Program.
WRWSA Board approved HCUD's funding request at their July 9, 2025, meeting. This grant agreement will provide matching funds for the FY 2026 budget to continue the water resource protection and conservation program.
On August 26, 2025, the BOCC requested this item to be continued for discussion at a future board meeting. Suzannah Folsom the Executive Director of the Withlacoochee Regional Water Supply Authority has prepared a presentation to share.
Also attached is a memorandum from the County Attorney's Office speaking on the BOCC's ability to withdraw from WRWSA.

This grant is budgeted in FY26.

The grant match from within the fund will go to:

The match revenue will come from the Grant Transfer Match expense:
