Recognition of Donations to Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services

BRIEF OVERVIEW
During FY 2022, Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services received several donations from Hernando County businesses and residents to show their support for the first responders as well as during Hurricane Ian. All of the following donations fall within the guidelines of County policy to accept donations.
• Recliner, Washer and Dryer from Juan Vasquez.
• Sanitizer Dispenser Stands from Holiday House.
• Chick-Fil-A has donated meals several times during training events and hurricane activation.
• Rescue Mule from Swamp Mountain Bike Club.
• The Villages CERT program donated CERT equipment for approximately 20 new members this year.
• Walmart opened their store during Hurricane Ian for staff to purchase additional supplies for the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) along with a $300.00 donation.
• Rocco’s Pizza donated dinner on 9/27/22 for the EOC during Hurricane Ian.
• Publix donated cookies and donuts for the EOC during Hurricane Ian.
• Texas Roadhouse opened their restaurant during Hurricane Ian to cook and donate food.
• Highest Point Coaching donated food.
• Commissioner Elect Brian Hawkins donated pizza to first responders during Hurricane Ian.
• Congressman Gus Bilirakis donated donuts and coffee for the EOC during Hurricane Ian.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The $300.00 was recorded as miscellaneous revenue within the General Fund.
