BRIEF OVERVIEW
Pursuant to statute, a performance audit was conducted of County and Hernando County Sheriff’s Office programs that may receive funds through the proposed discretionary sales surtax referendum on the November 2026 ballot to benefit the acquisition of law enforcement infrastructure. The audit report was provided by Mauldin & Jenkins who conducted the audit on behalf of Florida’s Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability (OPPAGA).
