BRIEF OVERVIEW
Received a request from Ashley Hoefecker, Community Engagement Director at Mid Florida Community Services, Inc., for a resolution certifying the Mid Florida Community Services, Inc., House to Home Program for the Construction of Housing for Low-Income Persons as consistent with local plans and regulations. Effective July 1, 2022, Mid Florida Community Services, Inc. began administering the affordable housing program that was previously offered by Habitat for Humanity of Hernando County, Inc., as that organization has dissolved and its association with the international affiliate terminated. Due to this change, Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity requested a new resolution certifying Mid Florida Community Services, Inc., House to Home Program.
The Health and Human Services Department has reviewed Mid Florida’s House to Home program and determined that it is consistent with Hernando County’s Comprehensive Plan-Housing and the Local Housing Assistance Plan.
