Ordinance Prohibiting Smoking in County Parks and Recreation Areas

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Parks and Recreation and the Hernando County Attorney’s Office have prepared the attached ordinance updating the Parks and Recreation Ordinance contained in Chapter 22, Article I of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances. The revision proposes to update the regulations in conjunction with House Bill 105 which became effective on July 1, 2022, under Chapter No. 2022-213.
Specifically, the ordinance is amending definitions in Section 22-2, and adds a section to 22-10 Prohibiting Smoking and Vaping in County Parks and Public Beaches.
