BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Emergency Management and Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services applied for the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Grant (HLMP) through the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) for the retrofitting of hurricane protection for Fire Station No. 1 located on Parker Avenue in Spring Hill. This retrofit will allow for hurricane impact windows, hurricane impact garage bay doors and a metal roof. The award of the grant is for $194,000.00 with no matching funds. Modification No. 2 extends this agreement to December 31, 2024, due to the countywide network interruption earlier this year.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The grant is reimbursable at 100% reimbursement. Funding of $194,000.00 is available, as shown in the attached financial statements:

No additional funds are requested; however, a time extension for the grant, to extend the competition date for the funds, was requested, due to the countywide network interruption.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairperson’s signature on the attached Modification No. 2 to FDEM Subgrant Agreement Contract No. B1093 for Emergency Management and Fire and Emergency Services, as well as the associated resolution.
