BRIEF OVERVIEW

On January 23, 2024, the Board issued a renewal Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (“COPCN”) to PatientCare EMS Solutions d/b/a MedFleet, LLC.  The COPCN allows the company to operate advanced life support and basic life support ground ambulance services within the geographical boundaries of Hernando County.  The company has now applied to change the name on its COPCN to Medfleet, LLC so that the name matches that on file with the State of Florida. If approved, the certificate expiration date will remain January 23, 2026.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The County is in receipt of $500 name change fee in the following:

 

Revenue: 

Fund:  0011 - General Fund, Department:  01201 - County Attorney’s Office, Account:  3699120 - MISC REV-RMB LEGAL FEES.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Sec. 125.01, Florida Statutes, Chapter 21, Art. X, Hernando County Code of Ordinances, and Hernando County Resolution No. 2014-20.

RECOMMENDATION

Based on the information in the application, review of current records, and the absence of any objections, it is recommended that the Board approve a change of name on the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) to Medfleet, LLC, and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached amended certificate.
