State Financial Assistance Recipient Agreement With Department Of Agriculture and Consumer Services for FY 2024-25 Funding for Mosquito Control Operations and Associated Budget Resolution

BRIEF OVERVIEW
To receive State appropriated funds for arthropod control in Hernando County, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) requires an agreement with each county making the request for State aid. This contract agreement spells out the statutory requirements for compliance when receiving state funded aid, as well as the various forms that are required to report the use of state and local funds.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The budget requested and approved for Mosquito Control in the adopted FY 24-25 budget is a combined $1,342,275.
Of that amount, $1,265,919 is budgeted in: Fund: 1171 - Mosquito Control Local fund, which is partially funded with an interfund transfer from the General Fund in the amount of $799,558 and
Fund: 1181 - State Mosquito Control was budgeted at $76,356 for FY25; hence, the increase of $739 outlined on the attached BA would increase it to $77,095.
Upon approval, the combined total would then be $1,343,014.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairperson’s signature on the attached FY 2024-25 Contract Agreement No. 31509 with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in order to receive State appropriated arthropod control funding for the new fiscal year. It is further recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairperson’s signature on the attached associated budget resolution.
