BRIEF OVERVIEW

To receive State appropriated funds for arthropod control in Hernando County, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) requires an agreement with each county making the request for State aid.  This contract agreement spells out the statutory requirements for compliance when receiving state funded aid, as well as the various forms that are required to report the use of state and local funds.

The budget requested and approved for Mosquito Control in the adopted FY 24-25 budget is a combined $1,342,275.

Of that amount, $1,265,919 is budgeted in: Fund:  1171 - Mosquito Control Local fund, which is partially funded with an interfund transfer from the General Fund in the amount of $799,558 and

Fund:  1181 - State Mosquito Control was budgeted at $76,356 for FY25; hence, the increase of $739 outlined on the attached BA would increase it to $77,095.
