Resolution Proclaiming September 2023 as National Preparedness Month

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Emergency Management requests the Board assist with increasing public awareness of the hazardous weather conditions in Florida by proclaiming September 2023 as National Preparedness Month in Hernando County. This would be in conjunction with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Ad Council as part of the National “Ready” Campaign. The “Ready” Campaign was launched in 2003 as a public service campaign designed to educate and empower the community to prepare for, and respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and man-made disasters.

It is recommended that the Board adopt the attached resolution proclaiming September 2023 as National Preparedness Month in Hernando County.
