BRIEF OVERVIEW

Request:

Rezoning from R-1C (Residential) to AR (Agricultural Residential)

 

General Location:

Southwest corner of Michigan Avenue and Gladstone Street

 

P&Z Action:

On June 12, 2023, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 3-2 to recommend the Board of County Commissioners postpone the request to allow the petitioner to coordinate with staff the conversion of the request to PDP(RUR)/Planned Development Project (Rural).

 

Hearing Detail:

The following members were present at the June 12, 2023, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting: Acting Chairman Mike Fulford; Kathryn Birren, Nicholas Holmes, Donald Whiting, and Gregory Arflack.  Mike Fulford and Nicholas Holmes were the dissenting votes.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

A matter of policy.  No financial impact.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to make the requested rezoning decision pursuant to Chapters 125 and 163 Florida Statutes.  The Applicable Criteria for a Zoning District Amendment are contained in Appendix A (Zoning Code), Article VI.  The Zoning District Amendment must be consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board postpone approving the petitioner’s request for rezoning from R-1C (Residential) to AR (Agricultural/Residential) to allow the petitioner to coordinate with staff to discuss the request to PDP(RUR)/Planned Development Project (Rural) with deviations.
