BRIEF OVERVIEW

Hernando County Board of County Commissioners, in accordance with Florida Statute 394.462, developed and implemented a transportation plan in collaboration with the Managing Entity, Lutheran Services Florida Health Systems and other county stakeholders. 

 

The transportation plan describes methods of transport to a facility within the designated receiving system for individuals subject to involuntary examination under s. 394.463 or involuntary admissions under s. 397.6772, 397.679, s 397.6798, and/or 397.6811 the plan complies with the transportation provisions of this section and ss. 397.6772, 397.6795, 397.6822, and 397.697.

 

In accordance with the Department of Children and Families guidelines and Florida Statutes, every county's current transportation is required to be reviewed and revised every three (3) years and submitted to the Managing Entity.  

 

Health and Human Services collaborated with the Managing Entity and County stakeholders to update Hernando County’s Behavioral Health Transportation Plan.

 

The Behavioral Health Transportation Plan is scheduled to be signed by the Chairman and submitted to the State to meet their deadline of July 1, 2023.  Any needed revisions to the Transportation Plan shall be reviewed with LSF Health Systems and the members of the Public Safety Coordinating Council and will be brought back for the Board’s approval should there be any revisions.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached 2023-2026 Behavioral Health Transportation Plan.
