BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Crime Stoppers Member Joe Pecora has requested that the Board of County Commissioners recognize Crime Stoppers of Hernando County, Inc., as the official crime stoppers for Hernando County. In addition, the Crime Stoppers are requesting the Board authorize them to act as the Board's agent for the purpose of applying for and receiving monies from the Crime Stoppers Trust Fund.
The Attorney General's Office has requested that the Board issue an updated Letter of Agreement, replacing the previous letter dated January 28, 2020. A copy of the updated Letter of Agreement is attached for the Board's review and approval.

There is no financial impact associated with the recommended action.

The Board has the authority to take action on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statues and Section 16.555, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve Crime Stoppers of Hernando County, Inc., as the Official Crime Stoppers Program for Hernando County, and authorize the Chairman's signature on the attached updated Letter of Agreement to the Attorney General's Office.
