BRIEF OVERVIEW
On May 20, 2024, Hernando County Fire Department requested piggyback of the Sourcewell Contract # 010424-VKN for Firefighting Personal Protective Equipment with Related Equipment Cleaning, with a contract expiration of March 27, 2028. The Contract provides for three (3) additional one (1) year renewal periods.
Hernando County Fire Department requests piggyback approval with Viking Life-Saving Equipment (America), Inc., to purchase turnout coats and pants with an annual estimated spend amount of $161,700.00.
Hernando County Procurement Department has assigned No. 24-P0120T to this Contract for tracking purposes.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to
Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding is available in the amount of $161,700.00 in Fund: 1661 - HC Fire Rescue - Fire, Department: 02261 - HC Fire Rescue - Fire, Account: 5305207 - Fire/Safety Gear and Supplies. Purchases will only be made against the available department budget.

The Board has the authority to take the recommended action on this item pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board approve the utilization of Sourcewell Contract # 010424-VKN with Viking Life-Saving Equipment (America), Inc., in the estimated annual spend amount of $161,700.00.
It is further recommended the Board approve the Chief Procurement Officer to renew the contract with the same terms and conditions and approve change orders as they become necessary and required up to annual budgeted amounts.
