Resolution Prohibiting Parking Within Right-of-Way on Cortez Boulevard (From Mary’s Fish Camp Road to 675 Feet West of Avenue of The Palms) Pursuant to Section 20-40, Code of Ordinances and Providing for Placement of “No Parking”, “Tow Away Zone” and “$110 Fine” Signage
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
Located west of Commercial Way/US 19, this section of Cortez Boulevard serves Palm Grove Colony and Bayport residents. It is a two-lane paved roadway with grassed shoulders. Due to unauthorized vehicle parking within the road right-of-way (ROW), access through this section of Cortez Boulevard becomes restricted; creating sight issues; and damaging the edge of the roadway and grassed shoulders.
Staff is recommending that No Parking At Any Time; Tow Away Zone; and $110 Fine signs be placed on Cortez Boulevard between Mary’s Fish Camp Road to 675’ West of Avenue of the Palms, to prevent parking within the road right-of-way; to curtail future damage to the roadway shoulders; and allow unrestricted vehicular access through the Palm Grove Colony and Bayport communities.
