BRIEF OVERVIEW
Resolution R2024-234 authorized the Hernando County Transit Administrator to do all things necessary and required to apply for, accept, and execute grant awards/funds made by Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).
The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners received the yearly allocations for Operating Funds from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT):
1. FTA Section 5311 (FDOT is the recipient) was originally anticipated to be $695,230 with 50% FDOT ($347,615) and 50% Match 9th Cent Local Option Gas Tax ($347,615). However, the award per FDOT Public Transportation Grant Agreement No. G3B33 was in the amount of $701,054, an increase of $5,824 with 50% FDOT ($350,527) Match ($350,527).
2. FDOT State Block Grant Public Transportation Grant Agreement G3A39 (Hernando direct recipient) issued in the amount of $975,716 with 50% FDOT ($487,858) and 50% Match 9th Cent Local Option Gas Tax ($487,858).
This agenda item is being brought to the Board for ratification of the Transit Administrator's execution of FDOT Grants G3B33 and G3A39.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The matching funds totaling from the 9th Cent Local Option Gas Tax are included in the FY26 Budget.

It is recommended that the Board approve and ratify the actions taken by the Transit Administrator for the execution of FDOT grant agreements G3B33 and G3A39.
