body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
On December 10, 2019, the Board approved the award of Contract No. 19-R00025/PH for Fire Station No. 5 Design and Construction Monitoring to Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., in the amount of $413,527.00.

The solicitation in 2019 stated that the 3-bay or 4-bay designs would be utilized for future standardized fire stations and Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., provided a design intended to be re-used in future projects.

The upcoming construction project for Fire Station No. 16, utilizes the design previously provided by Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., and the firm provided a cost proposal for design and construction monitoring services in the amount of $313,129.00.

Under s. 287.055(10), F.S., if a solicitation for design services states that the design is intended to be re-used in future projects, it is not a requirement to utilize the competitive selection process again for future projects as the initial procurement followed the competitive selection process under s. 287.055.

Upon department request, the Procurement Department prepared a Professional Services Agreement for award to Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., who created the previous fire station design with the intention to be re-used for future projects and staff is asking for the Board to approve the Professional Services Agreement in the amount of $313,129.00 for Fire Station No. 16 and associated budget amendment.

The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to the Hernando County Procurement Ordinance and the Hernando County Procurement Department Policies and Procedures.
