BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County requested a supplement to the Interlocal Agreement with the Hernando County Property Appraiser’s Office to establish a Business Unit for Hernando County Environmental Services Department GIS. This supplemental organizational agreement was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on March 27, 2012.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The termination of the agreement will result in the County needing to reassess how GIS services will be provided and how the delivery of those services will be coordinated. Upon confirming that, any changes in the budget will need to be considered. The current budget (FY25) includes $75,466 in the Utilities fund associated with the Environmental Services GIS costs.
The breakdown for all the GIS budget amounts are summarized below:
• Planning: $77,705
• Transportation Trust: $25,000
• Utilities (Environmental): $75,466
Combined Total: $178,171

It is recommended that the Board approve the termination of the Organizational Agreement Supplementing that Certain Interlocal Agreement for Hernando County Environmental Services’ Central Geographic Information System (GIS) effective September 30, 2025.
