BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Florida Division of Emergency Management has awarded Hernando County the Emergency Management Performance Grant in the amount of $81,288.00 (Agreement No. G0431).  This federal funding is intended to enhance the Emergency Management Program by performing eligible activities identified in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency, Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Emergency Management Performance Grants Program and programs that are consistent with Title 44, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 13, State Rule Chapter 9G-6, Florida Administrative Code and Chapter 252, Florida Statutes. 

 

Federal funds provided under this agreement shall be matched dollar for dollar from non-federal funds.  This required match is met by the funds allotted for the Emergency Management and Preparedness Assistance (EMPA).

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

An increase in revenue to the General Fund Grant No. 32011, in the amount of $81,288.00.  The dollar-for-dollar local match requirement is met with the Emergency Management and Preparedness Assistance Grant (EMPA).

 

LEGAL NOTE

Reviewed and approved for form and legal sufficiency.  The Board is authorized to act on this matter pursuant to Chapters 125 and 252, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached subaward grant agreement and associated budget resolution.
