BRIEF OVERVIEW

A State of Local Emergency was extended for a period of seven (7) days for Hernando County, effective September 23, 2023, through September 30, 2023, with Proclamation No. 2023-05.  Proclamation No. 2023-05 was signed by the Board Chairman in conjunction with the Executive Policy Group on September 22, 2023.  Copy of the Proclamation No. 2023-05 is attached.

 

A State of Local Emergency was extended for a period of seven (7) days for Hernando County, effective September 30, 2023, through October 7, 2023, with Proclamation No. 2023-06.  Proclamation No. 2023-06 was signed by the Board Chairman in conjunction with the Executive Policy Group on September 29, 2023.  Copy of the Proclamation No. 2023-06 is attached.

The Board has authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, Hernando County Code XII, § 21-201 through 21-210, Executive Order No. 23-171, and Executive Order 23-172.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve the actions taken by Emergency Management during the State of Emergency declared for Hurricane Idalia and ratify the Chairman’s signatures on Proclamation Numbers 2023-05 and 2023-06.
