Letter of Support for Lutheran Services Florida Health Systems Regarding Behavioral Health Managing Entity Invitation to Negotiate

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) Health Systems has served as the managing entity for Hernando County for over seven (7) years providing guidance and technical support to ensure evidenced-based best practice behavioral health services are being provided within our county to uninsured and underinsured residents.  Through their efforts, individuals that suffer from mental health and substance abuse disorders are able to find an array of services through contracted behavioral health providers for services that include treatment, prevention, and recovery services.  LSF Health Systems has aided the county in efforts to bring additional funding, services, and training to the county in the forms of grants, initiatives, and collaborative efforts.

To maintain and continue their efforts in Hernando to ensure that people at risk of or diagnosed with mental and substance abuse disorders can find the help they need, staff proposes submittal of the attached letter to the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) in support of LSF Health Systems’ response to DCF’s Behavioral Health Managing Entity Invitation to Negotiate.
