Ratification of Vehicle Purchase for Utilities Department

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County was able to obtain a 2023 Ford F-150 from Alan Jay Ford Lincoln Mercury through Sourcewell Contract 2023 091521-NAF. The Utilities Department has been short a vehicle for several months. When this vehicle became available and met the criteria of vehicles on backorder, the decision was made to purchase this vehicle, as per Board approval.
Fleet entered a requisition immediately in the amount of $41,198.00 on June 15, 2023, and instructed the vendor not to deliver the vehicle until the purchase order had been issued. Alan Jay Ford Lincoln Mercury delivered the vehicle disregarding Fleet’s direction not to deliver so a purchasing policy exception was required by the Procurement Department.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding in the amount of $41,198.00 is available in Account No. 5081-08031-560605, Vehicle and Trailers over $5,000.00.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board ratify the purchase in the amount of $41,198.00 to Alan Jay Ford for the purchase of a 2023 Ford F-150 and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders if they become necessary and required.
