BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Utilities Department requested an emergency purchase order on July 25, 2023, due to a direct lightning strike at the Glen Lakes Wastewater Reclamation Facility on July 24, 2023. The strike caused complete failure of the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) on the Centrifuge Machine. The Centrifuge cannot operate without this piece of equipment being repaired. This is a health hazard to the public as well as being noncompliant with the Florida Department of Environment Protection (FDEP) permit.

The Procurement Department issued Purchase Order No. 23000950 in the amount of $40,000.00 on July 25,2023, to Environmental Equipment Services, LLC for the repair of the Centrifuge Machine at Glen Lakes Wastewater Reclamation Facility. The Procurement Department is bringing the purchase order to the Board for ratification.

The actual repairs were completed at the final cost of $36,785.00. Change Order One (1) was processed to decrease the Purchase Order $3,215.00 now that the work has been completed. The change order was created to decrease the "estimated" Purchase Order amount to an "actual" purchase order amount and to pay/close this emergency purchase order upon Board approval.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding in the amount of $36,785.00 is available in Account No. 07201-5304617, Renewal and Replacement Repair/Maint-Sewer Plants.

In accordance with Part II, Chapter 2, Article V of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances, as well as Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.
