BRIEF OVERVIEW
On June 10, 2026, Commissioner Brian Hawkins resigned from his position as a County Commissioner to run as a State Representative in District 53. For this reason, the Board must determine who will replace him as a county liaison or member of the committees he served on as a Board representative.
Commissioner Brian Hawkins’ Committee Assignments:
1. Fair Association - Liaison
2. Hernando County School Board - Liaison
3. Local Emergency Planning Council (LEPC) - Member
4. Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) - Member
5. Metropolitan Planning Organization Advisory Council (MPOAC) - Member
6. Salvation Army - Member
7. Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) - Liaison
8. Suncoast Transportation Planning Alliance (SCTPA) - Alternate Member
9. Tourist Development Council (TDC) - Member
10. Waterways Advisory Committee - Liaison
