BRIEF OVERVIEW
On July 30, 2024, the Board approved Contract No. 24-TFG00704/AP Construction Services Under $500K for Grant Projects (Agenda Item No. 14279), pre-qualifying firms under four categories, A-Public Works, B-Waterways, C-Utilities, and D-Facilities, to provide quotes for County projects as needed.
On May 13, 2025, the BOCC approved award of Contract No. 24-TFG00704 Quote No. 5 to Hydro-Klean LLC for the Hernando Beach Wastewater Resiliency Manhole Coating project for $295,086.00.
The purchase order No. 25000763 was originally issued for $295,086.00. Change Order No. 5 in the amount of $18,750.00 would increase the purchase order to $514,154.50.
Change Order No. 1 was approved by the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) on October 22, 2025, for a no-cost time extension.
Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $200,318.50 was approved by the Board on November 18, 2025, to add 44 manholes including ring/cover replacements, inflow protectors, grouting, and coating manhole; add one pump station to include grouting and coating.
Change Order No. 3 was a no cost change order to extend the final completion date, this was CPO approved on January 30, 2026, for ample time to complete work on project.
Change Order No. 4 was a no cost change order to extend the final completion date, this was CPO approved on April 14, 2026, for ample time to complete items on Final punch list.
Hernando County Utilities Department is requesting Change order No. 5 due to unknown field conditions where the contractor discovered more brick chimneys in the manholes than previously known. This change order will be for chimney removal and concrete riser installation.
