BRIEF OVERVIEW

A mold issue at Fire Station No. 2 has made the station uninhabitable and the crews have moved to the adjacent training facility.  This building is not equipped for continued housing of the crews while Fire Station No. 2 is constructed.  Fire Station No. 2 is in the process of being bid.  During this construction, a temporary modular fire station was to be utilized.

 

Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services is needing to place the modular station as soon as possible due to the mold issue. 

 

On October 24, 2022, Emergency Purchase Order No. 23000114 was issued in the quoted amount of $100,942.61 to Deeb Construction and Development for water and sewer line installation for the modular.

 

This agenda item is created and submitted in accordance with the Purchasing and Contracts Department Policies and Procedures No. 060F, Emergency Procedures.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funds are available from Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services expenditure Account No. 02261-5304601 HC Fire Rescue - Fire, Repair/Maint-Bld & Grd in the amount of $60,565.56 and Account No. 02491-5304601 HC Fire Rescue - Rescue, Repair/Maint-Bld & Grd in the amount of $40,377.05.

The Board has the authority to hear this item pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board ratify Emergency Purchase Order No. 23000114 in the amount of $100,942.61 and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as they become necessary and required.
