Ratification of Grant Application Submitted to Federal Aviation Administration for Airfield Pavement Improvement Design Project at Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport

BRIEF OVERVIEW
A pre-application for a design project for Airfield Pavement Improvements was approved by the Hernando County Board of Commissioners on November 18, 2025, Item No. 16605, which authorized the County Administrator’s signature on any future documents relating to this project’s grant application. This project’s design includes:
- Schedule A - Reconstruction of 229,500 square feet of existing apron pavement.
- Schedule B - Reconstruction and/or full depth reclamation of 127,400 square feet of existing hangar taxilane pavement.
With the pre-application accepted, a grant application was completed and signed by County Administrator Jeff Rogers, and submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
If awarded, the Airport would receive grant funding in the amount of $304,484 from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The match portion of this grant will be funded by a future grant of $12,820 from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and a local match portion of $3,205 to be budgeted upon award. Total cost for the design project would be $320,509. The local match would be transferred from:
