BRIEF OVERVIEW
Discuss the Structural Engineer's findings and determine the next course of action for the Linda Pedersen Observation Tower.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The report from the Structural Engineer includes two options:
1. Remove the tower and rebuild it. The cost summary is on page 9 of the PDF and totals $543,642.00.
2. Remove the damaged pieces and replace them. The cost summary is on page 14 of the PDF and totals $502,318.32.
There is currently a Capital Improvement Project (CIP) for tower removal attached. CIP No. 111906 has $50,000 budgeted for the tower removal. The Office of Management and Budget has carried that amount forward to the FY26 Budget at the request of the department; however, additional funding would be needed if either option from the report is selected, based on the numbers provided.

The Board has authority to act on this matter pursuant to Florida Statutes 125.

It is recommended that the Board review the structural analysis and make a determination for the next course of action for the observation tower.
