Resolution Proclaiming May 19, 2024, Through May 25, 2024, as National Public Works Week

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The American Public Works Association (APWA) has announced “Advancing Quality of Life for All” as the theme for the 2024 National Public Works week. The theme provides an understanding of how Public Works contributes to advancing and enhancing the quality of life, no matter where we live.
This year’s theme, the “Advancing of Life for All’ reflects on how Public Works advances the quality of life by providing infrastructure of services in transportation, stormwater treatment, public buildings and spaces, right-of-way management, and transit. Public Works is what makes our community a dynamic place to live and work.
In celebration of Public Works Week, the Public Works Department, in conjunction with Utilities and Fleet, held our Third Annual Touch-A-Truck event on April 6, 2024. Pictures from the event are attached.
It is recommended that the Board adopt the attached resolution proclaiming May 19, 2024, through May 25, 2024, as Public Works Week in Hernando County.
