BRIEF OVERVIEW

Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFES) contracted with consultant Benesch to perform a comprehensive study of the current fire assessment portion for HCFES of the Impact Fee rates to include City of Brooksville due to the consolidation of the fire department.  HCFES will be presenting their findings to the Board.  HCFES request the Board to give direction for any rate adjustments for fiscal year 2027 in order to schedule a public hearing in June.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The financial impact will affect funding for fire services for FY 2027 budgets.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended the Board provide direction on Impact Fee rates to be set for FY 2027 in order to schedule a public hearing to adopt those rates.
