BRIEF OVERVIEW
On June 22, 2021, Hernando County awarded a contract to Friends Recycling, LLC under Contract No. 21-T00030/DK to provide Recyclable Processing.
Amendment No. One was processed on August 23, 2022, to increase the price per ton from $45.00 to $49.10. Amendment No. Two was processed on September 14, 2023, to increase the price per ton from $49.10 to $50.57.
The Hernando County Landfill Department is requesting Amendment No. 3 for a price increase from $50.57 to $95.57 per ton as requested by Friends Recycling, LLC.
Friends Recycling, LLC is requesting a price increase in the amount of $45.00 per ton due to the rising costs to Friends Recycling, LLC for fees associated with processing Hernando County material. This increase will bring the price from $50.57 to $95.57 per ton. Prior annual estimate of $217,451.00 will be increased by $193,500.00 with a new annual estimate of $410,951.00.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding is available in Fund: 4411 - Solid Waste and Recycling, Department: 07603 - Recycling Operations, Account: 5303401 - Contracted Services. New estimated annual amount of $410,951.00.

It is recommended the Board approve Amendment No. Three to Contract No. 21-T00030/DK for Hernando County Recyclable Processing.
