body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

On March 24, 2026, the Board of County Commissioners heard a petition challenging the Notice of Public Nuisance Vessel against Registration #FL1693LJ, Decal #08029041 issued by the County Administrator on January 21, 2026 (Agenda Item No. 17197).  Petitioner Jahson Imgrund is the owner of the vessel; he appeared at the hearing and did not contest the existence of the conditions alleged in the nuisance or that such conditions constitute a public nuisance.  Deputy Steve Snell corroborated the factual determinations in the Notice.  After such testimony and evidence were presented, the Board upheld the determination that the vessel is a Public Nuisance Vessel as defined in Hernando County Code § 7-100(a), and granted the petitioner until April 30, 2026, to abate the public nuisance.

Attached to this agenda item is the Resolution affirming the Board’s findings and its ruling in this matter.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no financial impact if the petitioner abates the public nuisance.  The County will incur expenses in abating the public nuisance if the petitioner fails to do so.

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to act on this matter in accordance with Ch. 125, Fla. Stat., and Ch. 7 of the Hernando County Code.
