BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Fiscal Year 2025 Solid Waste Revenue Sufficiency Study, dated May 30, 2025, was completed by Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc. The study recommends the following tipping fees to recover disposal costs for waste at the Northwest Solid Waste Management Facility:

FINANCIAL IMPACT
If the Board approves the tipping fee rate increases for day-to-day operations of the Solid Waste Department, it will impact the Fund’s revenue starting January 1, 2026.

The Board has authority to act on this matter pursuant to Sections 125.01 and 403.7049, Florida Statutes, as well as Division 3, Article II of Chapter 14, Hernando County Code of Ordinances.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board conduct a public hearing, adopt the revised tipping fees, and approve the Chairman’s signature on the resolution to increase various tipping fees effective January 1, 2026.
