Amendment No.1 to Memorandum of Understanding With Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services for Obligation of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funds to Provide Emergency Relief From Natural Disasters

BRIEF OVERVIEW

On November 19, 2024, the BOCC approved an interdepartmental Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) (Agenda Item No. 14935), obligating $2,655,196.00 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for emergency relief from natural disasters.  This amendment will obligate an additional $52,300.00 in available funding for emergency relief from natural disasters for a total obligation of $2,707,496.00. 

 

Obligation of funds under this MOU allows for future expenditures for emergency relief from natural disasters through December 31, 2026.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no immediate financial impact.  Specific expenditures will be identified at a later time.  Funds are available within Fund 1555 American Rescue.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on Amendment No. One (1) to the Memorandum of Understanding with the Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services Department for Emergency Relief from Natural Disasters.
