Program Letter of Agreement With HCA Florida Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine GME, Oak Hill Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program and Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services for Medical Student Clinical Ride-A-Longs
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFES) would like to enter into an agreement with the University of South Florida (USF) and HCA Oak Hill Hospital to allow their medical students to participate in clinical “ride-a-longs” in order to become educated in the pre-hospital care of patients as a requirement of the medical program. The students were participating in this same type of program at Nature Coast EMS, however, the program closed leaving the medical students without a location to obtain clinical EMS hours. In order to gain knowledge and experience (which is a requirement of the USF physician program), the USF students would participate in a rotation for four weeks while participating as a resident at HCA Oak Hill Hospital. This program has been evaluated and approved by the Medical Director, Dr. Roderick Bennett.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
There will be no expenditures incurred by HCFES.
