BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Crime Stoppers Member Joe Pecora has requested that the Board of County Commissioners recognize Hernando County Crime Stoppers, Inc., as the official crime stoppers program for Hernando County. In addition, Crime Stoppers is requesting that the Board authorize them to act as the Board's agent for the purpose of applying for and receiving monies from the State’s Crime Stoppers Trust Fund.
The Attorney General's Office has requested that the Board issue an updated Letter of Agreement, replacing the previous letter dated February 14, 2023. A copy of the updated Letter of Agreement is attached for the Board's review and approval.

There is no financial impact associated with the recommended action.

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Section 16.555 and Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve Hernando County Crime Stoppers, Inc., as the Official Crime Stoppers Program for Hernando County, and authorize the Chairman's signature on the attached updated Letter of Agreement to the Attorney General's Office.
