BRIEF OVERVIEW
The current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) Article 45 does not provide a method of compensation for Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Preceptors.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) shall represent the mutual agreement between labor and management as it pertains to the Hernando County Fire Rescue EMS Preceptor Pay setting forth a pathway for Hernando County Fire Rescue to select and utilize EMS Preceptors to accommodate the increasing number of Paramedic interns that are needing to obtain their Hernando County Paramedic privileges.
The MOU will be effective upon full execution by both parties and will automatically expire upon full ratification and implementation of a successor Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) between the parties.

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Memorandum of Understanding between International Association of Firefighters Local 3760 and Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services for Peer Support Training.
