Ground and Tower License Agreement With State Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for Tower Site Required to Facilitate Implementation of P-25 Interoperable Public Safety Radio Network System

BRIEF OVERVIEW
On June 22, 2021, the Board awarded Communications International, Inc., with the P-25 Interoperable Public Safety Radio Network System Contract # 20-R00014 (MT No. 18352). As part of that agreement, there are to be eight (8) cell tower sites to facilitate the use of the new equipment. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service was to provide a location within the Withlacoochee State Forest for necessary cell tower site with no fee to the County. This item is for that contract, and it identifies the location of the cell tower site in the Withlacoochee State Forest and the allowable uses of the tower equipment at the location. The term of the agreement is 25 years and will automatically renew for one additional 25-year term unless either party gives a 60-day notice of non-renewal to the other party.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Ground and Tower License Agreement with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service, along with the associated Maintenance Agreement referenced as Exhibit “C” thereto, for the above referenced site as part of the implementation of the P-25 Interoperable Public.
